This process works well if you use a slower speed on you drill or drill press. A wise poster has also noted to place the piece on a block of wood.
2007-12-10 · Drilling of φ0.25mm holes, using the FAE sheet, resulted in a maximum displacement of 25.4μm and an average + 3σ (σ: standard deviation) of 27.8μm, both of which fit to the specification of less than 40μ m. Conventional aluminum sheet, on the other hand, gave results (a maximum displacement of 89.4μm and Average

2006-2-26 · You can drill a 1" hole in aluminum at about 1000 RPM but the chips might try to flog you to death. 500 RPM or so might be a less "dynamic" spindle speed to run a largish drill in aluminum. If you have teouble with lobing and chatter drill through about 3/4" of wood first. The wood will act as a polit bearing.
Rotabroach Cutters are for precision holemaking in sheet metal, frame materials, and plate stock up to ½" thick, whether Mild , , or Aluminum. These are the same tools as those used by OEMs on assembly lines for access holes and accessory equipment installations.
